The number of tourists visiting Armenia decreased by 3% in March 2024, compared to March of the previous year. The governor of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Martin Galstyan, announced this at a press conference Tuesday.

Galstyan added that the average spending per tourist in Armenia has also dropped. But in his view, this 3 percent difference does not have a considerable impact on capital inflow into Armenia.

"There are other inflows of capital. The inflow of foreign currency can be impacted, for example, by the trade factor. It is about imported goods, some of which are then exported. Such flows affect demand," Galstyan noted.

He informed that the CBA has prepared a bill on cryptocurrencies, which will be put into circulation soon.

The head of CBA explained that the respective policy being conducted in Armenia will be consistent with the policy being conducted in the European Union.
