A major tragic accident occurred today, 27 April, in Syunik region.

At 17:20 on the administrative territory of Khotanan village, Goris-Kapan road, a bus with Iranian number plates fell into a ravine, shamshyan.com reports. 

As photo correspondent Gagik Shamshyan reports from the scene, as a result of the accident, 2 people died on the spot, and more than 20 were hospitalized with injuries.

Citizens and rescuers from Kapan and Ahvan were the first to come to the aid of the injured.

The Prosecutor of Syunik region also arrived on the scene.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the fact of the accident, and the identity of the driver, the dead, and the injured are being established.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, according to preliminary data, three people were killed, and six were injured.

Work at the scene of the accident continues.
