The second trilateral meeting between the delegations of Ukraine, Russia, and the US on a peaceful settlement, which was scheduled for Sunday and Monday, will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has announced.
The aforesaid date was moved due to the need for “additional coordination of the schedules of the three parties,” Peskov added.
Shortly before that, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also had noted the same dates.
The meeting was rescheduled, presumably, at the initiative of the US. On the eve of the second round, US President Donald Trump had asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to refrain from carrying out new strikes on the energy facilities in Ukrainian capital Kiev and its region until Sunday amid the severe cold and the aftermath of previous Russian massive attacks.
The Kremlin spokesperson, however, did not say whether this moratorium on strikes on the energy facilities would be extended until the start of the new round of these peace talks.
