A noteworthy incident occurred in Armenia’s southernmost Meghri border area on January 20, ArmLur.am reports.

Accordingly, more than a dozen people, including Iranian citizens and some other countries’ nationals, attempted to illegally enter Armenia from Iran. At around 12:05am, they attempted to illegally cross the Armenia-Iran state border over the barbed wire fence. But, they were detained by the Armenian National Security Service and are currently being held in a detention center.

In this regard, the Armenian Investigative Committee officially announced that a criminal case has been initiated regarding this attempt to illegally cross the Armenia-Iran state border, and seven people have been detained.
