The Armenian government plans to declare this year’s May 4 a non-working day.
Being actively engaged in the European Political Community (EPC) and playing an important role in regional security and cooperation, Armenia will host the 8th Summit of the EPC.
Given the importance of this event and its unprecedented level of participation—about 50 high-ranking delegations at the level of heads of state or organizations are expected—for Armenia, it has become necessary to declare this year’s May 4 a non-working day in Armenia in order to effectively organize capital Yerevan’s transport traffic.
The respective draft decision has been put on the agenda of the Armenian government’s cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The draft decision, however, does not specify which day will become a working day as a result of making May 4 a non-working day this year.
