For the first time in the history of Armenian performing arts, Carl Flesch’s groundbreaking work, The Art of Violin Playing, has been translated into Armenian. Originally published in 1923, this manual remains a global cornerstone of violin education and pedagogy.

The Armenian edition is published with the support of the Amaryan Charitable Foundation, Apricot Capital, and Balchug Capital. The project is implemented by the Primavera Foundation of Armenia in collaboration with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Eduard Topchjan).

By the decision of the project's sponsors, copies of the book will be provided free of charge to Armenia’s music schools, colleges, and the Conservatory.

The Armenian edition was produced under a license agreement with the Berlin-based publisher Ries & Erler. The translation from German and general editing was carried out by violinist and Professor at the Detmold Hochschule für Musik, Aram Badalian. The new edition was edited by Maximilian Simon and Nadine Contini.

"The Amaryan Charitable Foundation is happy to gift the Armenian music community with Carl Flesch's "The Art of Violin Playing,” said David Amaryan, co-founder of the Amaryan Charitable Foundation and founder and CEO of Balchug Capital.

"The Armenian edition will ensure our musicians in Armenia have access to the highest standards of violin education, enriching the learning experience for students and teachers alike. We are confident that they will use it to hone their skills and continue to shine brightly on both local and international stages,” said Vardan Amaryan, co-founder of the Amaryan Charitable Foundation and founder of Apricot Capital.

Violinist and conductor Eduard Topchjan said: "This globally recognized guide to mastering the violin, available in many languages, has finally been published in Armenian. It is a wonderful gift for musicians, students, and professors. Both those who have long used the English and German editions and those who have been unable to access them until now will benefit greatly from the Armenian version. The violin is the voice of my soul, and I sincerely hope that this publication will inspire and contribute to a rebirth of violin education in Armenia, restoring the high standards that once existed and which we can achieve again today."

"I believe it was worth investing seven long months of dedicated work by a team of professionals to make this legendary violin teaching method available in Armenia in the Armenian language. This is a significant page in the history of the country's performing arts. My expression of gratitude to all those who supported this project cannot exceed the fact that these individuals have already become a part of the history of Armenian classical music education," noted Elena Yakovleva, Co-Founder and executive director of the Primavera Foundation of Armenia.
