Namik Islamzadeh, the "hero" of the aggression against Artsakh, has been appointed commander of the Azerbaijani Air Force, Azerbaijani media reported. It is reported that before this appointment, Islamzadeh held the position of deputy commander of the Air Force.

On 11 May, Azerbaijani Air Force Commander Ramiz Tahirov was relieved of service due to reaching the age limit for military service.
