A total of 27 original volumes from the private collection of the Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm,  have been found in a library at Poland's in the University Library in Poznan, reports The Daily Mail.

The books contain handwritten notes by the authors—and which no one had read so far.

Experts have said that the find is valuable for studying the legacy of the Brothers Grimm, as it could reveal how they chose themes for their stories.

The discovery was made by scientists at Poland's Adama Mickiewicz University who spent six months analyzing each book with hopes of finding the series thought to have been destroyed in World War II.
