The number of people killed in a road accident involving a bus in Syunik region has increased. According to preliminary information, 4 people have been killed and 9 injured, the Armenian Interior Ministry said.

The works at the scene of the accident continue.

Today, April 27, at 17:27, the National Crisis Management Center received a signal that a bus went off the road near the village of Khotanan in Syunik Marz and fell into a ravine.

Head of Verin Khotanan administrative district Rafael Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the bus was returning from Yerevan to Iran, and the passengers were Iranians.

According to some reports, the bus had problems with brakes, he said.

Grigoryan noted that the injured were taken to Kapan Medical Centre. Rescuers are still working at the site of the accident.
