Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan was on a working visit to Slovenia, where the two countries' finance ministries signed a Memorandum of Understanding "On Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia."

During the meeting, the ministers emphasized the need to strengthen regular bilateral (inter-departmental) cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the budgetary, tax spheres, as well as in the sphere of state finance management, Armenian News-NEWS.am is informed by the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.

In accordance with the commitments undertaken in the aforesaid memorandum, an agreement was reached to activate the exchange of experience in terms of technical and professional knowledge, as well as the exchange of information on capacity development in such directions as policy development, efficiency of decision-making processes, improvement of legislation in the field, etc.

The cooperation in the mentioned directions is planned to be implemented in the form of familiarization visits of the employees of the ministries, participation in training programs and seminars, workshops and forums.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation led by the Armenian finance minister also visited the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF) in Ljubljana, where the cooperation opportunities of the Armenian Ministry of Finance as the best institute of knowledge and experience in the context of capacity building of the field were discussed with the leadership of the organization. Agreements were reached on holding consultations for preparing a road map for its development and modernization.
