Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Buenos Aires on an official visit, on Monday met with Argentina's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Diana Mondino, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The high level of political dialogue between the two countries, based on the long-term friendly relations between the peoples of Armenia and Argentina, was emphasized with satisfaction from both sides. The Armenian FM emphasized the role of Argentina in South America as an important partner of Armenia, noting that high-level mutual visits are also a clear proof of this.
During the meeting, both sides expressed willingness to explore new opportunities and deepen cooperation in domains of mutual interest, including trade, economy, high tech, education, and energy. It was noted with satisfaction that a wide legal contractual base has been formed between the two countries, at the same time stressing the readiness to supplement it in new domains in line with the expansion of cooperation.
The interaction between the diplomatic schools of the two countries was addressed, too.
In the context of promoting trade and economic relations between Armenia and Argentina, the importance of further encouraging investment programs was also emphasized.
In the context of the development of cooperation between the two countries, FMs Mirzoyan and Mondino touched also upon the role of the Armenian community in Argentina as a unique bridge.
Regional security was also discussed by the FMs of Armenia and Argentina. In this connection, Mirzoyan presented to his Argentinian colleague the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the ongoing negotiations on the draft peace treaty. Ensuring the border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Alma Ata declaration of 1991, and generally adhering to the agreements reached at the highest level until now, was highlighted as well.
And in the context of unblocking regional transport and economic channels, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the Crossroads of Peace project developed by the Armenian government, pointed to the opportunities for economic and channel development provided by this project, as well as its potential to contribute to stability in the region.
